The Reeves Community Center Foundation was created to provide financial assistance for to assist the poor, distressed and underprivileged to gain access to programs and activities provided by RCC/ The Mount Airy Parks and Recreation Department. The funds may also provide financial assistance for the maintenance, support and capital needs of the present institution known as Reeves Community Center, a division of the Parks and Recreation Department.

The mission of Surry County Parks and Recreation is to improve the quality of life in Surry County and to be regarded as an exceptional service organization by ensuring that opportunities exist for the enjoyment of recreation, culture, and the natural environment.
In addition to offering various recreational and cultural programs, Surry County Parks and Recreation hosts the Special Olympics of Surry County Spring Games, Yadkin Valley Senior Games, Surry County Sports Hall of Fame, and Summer Day Camp for area youth.
